Meet the Officers
Six physicians leading VAMA-GH this term — in their own words.
VP External Affairs
Thao Nguyen, MD
I am Dr. Thao Nguyen, a current assistant professor at UTHealth Houston in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, Department of Pediatrics. I would like to accept the nomination for VP of External Affairs at VAMA-GH. I have been a highly active member of VAMA for the past 10 years. Since joining, I have been highly active in the VAMA scholarship committee, along with chairing the program for 4 years. In addition, I have been the secretary of the VAMA-GH for the past 2 years. I believe with my experience and expertise, I can continue to broaden the reach of VAMA throughout our community and beyond. It is also my goal to outreach junior physicians and medical students to promote the next generation of VAMA-GH.
Secretary
Thai Dang, MD
I thank you for the nomination for VAMA Secretary. I am a nephrologist. I have been practicing for 15 years and have spent all of them Kelsey Seybold Clinic near the Texas Medical Center, initially as a hospitalist and now clinic based internal medicine. Outside of work, I am a personal driver for my 2 boys for their sports activities. I also enjoy playing board games with my family, grilling food, racket sports and the occasional appearances at the gym. I look forward to using my experiences to help our community.
